Scar Massage

Scar tissue can cause complications long after surgery or injury. Many people have scars due to surgery for cancer, cesarean sections, orthopaedic surgery and burns. These scars can lead to long lasting side effects such as pain, numbness, itching or tightness in the skin and muscle tissue which can impact how you move.

Scar therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment designed to support both physical and emotional healing.

I am a specialist C-section scar therapist, trained by Restore Scar Therapy in advanced massage techniques that may reduce pain, itching and sensitivity, stimulate numb tissue and skin healing, improve range and ease of movement as well supporting emotional wellbeing, which may help individuals accept their scars.

Cesarean Section Massage,
to support your recovery

Many women now have a c-section but feel completely unsupported afterwards in how to look after their scar or what impact it might have on their lives. Scar tissue forms around your C section scar making it feel tight which can restrict your movement and cause pain. The scar can feel itchy or numb and some women develop a pouch above their scar which they dislike the look of. Some women, touching or even looking at their scar can be difficult, especially if they have experienced birth trauma.

C-section massage is a gentle and often deeply relaxing treatment. It promotes circulation and skin healing, improves movement and can nurture self care, encouraging you to care for yourself with kindness.

Treatment can start eight weeks after your C-section but women may benefit from it even decades after their C-section

Scar Massage Therapy,
to support your recovery

Scar massage can help to reduce the symptoms of pain and itching and discomfort, on and around a scar, whether the scar is new or old. The gentle  techniques I use can increase blood flow, reduce swelling, improve the mobility of the scar which helps to restore your comfort and flexibility. Massage can also reduce pain and improve numbness by supporting your body's natural healing process.

Scar massage can also go beyond physical benefits and can help you to build a more positive emotional connection with your body and the scar, as often these have come about following a traumatic event. This treatment is a gentle and supportive way to nurture both body and mind.
